Sheerah
A biblical name (1 Chronicles 7:24), a daughter of Ephraim who built three cities, symbolising strength, vision, and the ability to build from nothing.
Advancing Dignity. Strengthening Lives.
Sheerah Verenda Full Life Initiative Ltd/GTE is a Nigerian social impact organisation strengthening individuals, families, and communities through integrated development programmes.

IforSFU community activity, 2015–2016
Our Story
Sheerah Verenda Full Life Initiative Ltd/GTE began its journey through an earlier initiative called Initiative for Sustaining Family Unity (IforSFU), registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2013 and operational from 2014.
IforSFU was focused on family counselling, mediation, and violence prevention. Through direct engagement with families and communities, the organisation encountered the deeper, interconnected challenges shaping family wellbeing: poverty, gender inequality, mental health neglect, migration risks, education barriers, and the absence of safe spaces for women.
It became clear that sustainable change requires addressing not just the crisis in front of us, but the systems that create it. No single intervention, however well designed, could address the full spectrum of challenges that communities face. A more integrated approach was needed.
In 2025, the organisation received CAC approval to formally rename as Sheerah Verenda Full Life Initiative Ltd/GTE, a name that reflects the enlarged vision, the expanded scope of work, and the commitment to community transformation at its fullest.

The Name
A biblical name (1 Chronicles 7:24), a daughter of Ephraim who built three cities, symbolising strength, vision, and the ability to build from nothing.
Coined from Veritas (truth) and Orenda (the power within all people to change the world). It also evokes the veranda, a gathering place where people share stories, find support, and build community.
Lasting social change begins with human connection and collective care.

How We Work
Our work responds to the full realities people face, combining direct programme interventions, community engagement, and narrative change platforms that shape understanding, reduce stigma, and promote inclusive social attitudes.
Our Alignment with the Global Goals
Our programmes align with eight of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: dignity, wellbeing, education, equality, justice, and partnership.
