What this programme sets out to change

Verenda Shared Kitchens is a community-based economic empowerment initiative that supports women and vulnerable groups through cooperative food production and entrepreneurship.

The programme combines shared infrastructure, skills development, and business support to enable participants to generate income, build sustainable livelihoods, and strengthen local food systems.

Verenda Shared Kitchens is also our primary path to earned income, generating revenue through shared facility fees, food incubation services, and market linkages, with surplus reinvested into our broader programmes. The growth model projects Year 1 as a pilot with 10–15 entrepreneurs, Year 2 as the beginning of operational revenue, and Year 3 as a self-sustaining model.
